A Hurricane Oh My!

In light of the fact that Hurricane Gustav is looking like it might effect Cancun my good friend Steve has just de-mothballed the Hurricane Cancun web site. I’ll be posting any hurricane-related posts on that site, so be sure to check it out.

Do you live there full time? Is it a retirement thing? How long will they let you stay in the country? Is there a link somewhere where you have already explained all this. I have a zillion questions like is it cheaper to live down there, quality of groceries, services, electricity. I know its a big vacation spot but does it help greatly to speak spanish. On all my vacations there I got by knowing very little. Any reccomendations or thought about extended living in the yucatan area.

Yes, I’ve lived here for over 5 years. And something like food and housing are cheaper than where I lived in the US. Other things like clothing and electronics are more money or lower quality.

If you look through the archive for this blog you will find lots of older posts about all kinds of things.
