ALSO..THOSE COMMENTATORS ARE NEGATIVE BUTTHOLES WHO ARE ACTUALLY QUITE JEALOUS YOU LIVE IN CANCUN AND ARE HAPPY

BOOKING A VACATION PACKAGE IS EASY FOR THEM AND IF IT IS AN AI PACKAGE THESE BURPSTERS MAY NEVER SEE CANCUN OR OUTSIDE OF CANCUN

After 10 years as a Cancun hotel zone visitor, an avid deep sea fisherman, many Mayan tours and nosing around, I would love to live in Cancun and I know it most likely it would not be in the hotel zone. I looked around and saw both the good and not so good.So what.... I still want to live there.

I SHIFT GEARS WHEN I GET OFF THE PLANE AND WELCOME THE CHANGE. IT IS PART OF MEXICO AND THE PEOPLE

When this all inclusive Gringo leaves a tip for the cleaning ladies, the bellhop, waiters,
the bartender (Hic!)and the front desk I see immense appreciation and not expectations.
To give is to recieve.

PHEW JOE GET YOUR SOAP BOX.!!!!! LOL

I read Living in Cancun a lot and see what it takes to "Make It In Cancun" by reading those folk's efforts to maintain the piece of the good life they have.

Kim all your activites, netwoking and how you keep juggling all the balls in the air at once are what puts you in the position to make diverse comments about Cancun and Mexico. It "is" because you care and your writings indicate this advocacy.
That is why you are and will continue to be successfull and happy in Mexico.

SCREW THE ALL INCLUSIVE BURPSTERS OR WHOEVER WHO THINK THEY ARE MAKING COMMENTS. WHEN COMMENTS GET NASTY THEY THEN BECOME SUBJECTIVE AND JUDGEMENTAL.

I really believe it should be called "MAKING IT IN CANCUN"

KEEP ON ROCKING KIM !!!!

Wow! I'm shocked! In 4+ years of travel blogging I've never received any of those kind of emails (unfortunately, except from immediate family. Sigh

I guess that is one good thing about being unknown in the blogosphere.

And I agree wholeheartedly with Michelle. I can't believe anyone would find anything so offensive in your blog that they would need to spew.

Chin up; you're doing a great job (but you don't need me to tell you that. :))

Rivergirl, I'm flabbergasted that someone would take the time to leave a comment and only to be so nasty. That they actually took the time to come to your blog and not read more just shows how narrow minded they must be. It was reading your blog (and a little encouragement from you personally) that got me into creating my own. You are inspiring to say the least. Keep up your great words of wisdom, and to those few pin heads... they can go stick their heads back in the sand!

Rivergirl, it seems to me that the bloggers who get these awful comments usually live in tourist areas. It's as if the commentators have a stake in perpetrating the Mexico as paradise image and feel threatened by any reality. Also some of those types of peoples seem to be head in the sand, they don't want to know about any imperfections because then they would have to deal with them.
Then there are the people who are looking to take offense, anything that can be misconstrued is grist for their mill. Hang in there.
regards,
Theresa

Thanks Joe, you rock!

And Michelle, I think that the people who dislike what I say are just particularly obnoxious about letting me know their thoughts, so I notice them.

I have been reading your blog for quite awhile and I have NEVER seen anything that should elicit such negative remarks and reactions from readers. I may not always agree or see things the same way (although, I think we are pretty like-minded) but your posts are always thoughtful and fair. I am certain you have way more fans than detractors. Keep up the good work.
