Isla Blanca – My Favorite Beach

A year ago I wrote a post about Isla Blanca. Below are some new photos of the area. My favorite beach around here is in Isla Blanca, it’s just south of Pirata Morgan. It’s big and wide and no one is ever there when I go. According to the owner of Pirata Morgan the beach close to his establishment has been getting BIGGER since Hurricane Wilma which is nice since so many beaches around here seem to be shrinking.

Looking north toward Pirata Morgan. Pirata Morgan has rustic cabañas and a very basic seafood restaurant. It’s a nice place to stop for a cold beer.

This is my favorite beach. Yum.

This is the “restaurant” at Pirata Morgan.

North of my favorite beach is a place where the isthmus narrows and you can easily get to Laguna Chakmochuk. The lagoon has amazingly hot water. We always see lots of tiny fish there as well as lots of birds.

This photo was taken north of Pirata Morgan close to Laguna Chakmochuk.

Here’s Sam at Laguna Chakmochuk.

And another shot of Sam enjoying Laguna Chakmochuk.

Wow, I need to find out where that is and GO THERE. Dogs are ok, I presume? No hassles?

Heather – Dogs are just fine there. Pirata Morgan won’t let your dog in, but if you just go straight to the beach then there’s no one around to care about your doggie.

Awww, one of my favourite places! Love me some Isla Blanca. We haven’t explored the lagoon side, but will check it out next time we are over that way. Now, how do you find beach access without going through Pirata Morgan? Where do you park?

Canuck – I will explain the access to the beach next time I talk to you.

Definitely explore the lagoon next time, if you go north of the restaurant at the end of the road you can get to the lagoon through a break in the trees.

Beautiful beach pics! You’ve taken a lot of nice pics and I loved the strange signs (the dog, NO-LoL) from the states.

    Hi River Girl
When i posted to you on another forum i had no idea you have been to Isla Blanca. We usually go to the end of the dirt road. The Acapulco restaurant is located there. We will stop and checkout Capt Morgans. We go past it all the time. The kite festival is Feb 27th and 28th, 11 to 4PM. It will be on the beach next to the restaurant. Please come and bring friends.
    God Bless
    Carlos
