On the Mend

I’m getting better but it’s slow and arduous; two steps forward and one step back. The doc wants me to do another round of antibiotics and he’s concerned with how much fluid is still in my lungs. I’m a long way from being back to normal but at least the fever is gone so I can think again.

Thanks to all of my pals who’ve commented and called and sent emails. When you are flat on your back feeling horrible it’s very nice to know that you have friends out there.

We’ve all been worried about you. Get better. Life just isn’t the same without our southern connections.

Oh, Kim, I’m so sorry to hear you have been so sick! Take care of yourself, get a lot of rest and read trashy novels. Do you want me to bring you some homemade chicken soup? I make a pretty decent chicken soup.

Glad you are on the mend, nothing worse than pneumonia or the like when it’s hot and humid and hard to breathe anyway.

Are the Mexicans in your life pushing the astounding qualities of Vicks? 😉

Mary – Thanks! I’m working on it.

Heather – In the last week I’ve read a John Grisham novel, a James Patterson novel and a PD James novel, that’s enough trash for a while. And I’m also reading Barack Obama’s Audacity of Hope, which is very much NOT trash.

Canuck – No one’s pushed Vick’s on me yet. My Mexican is mostly making me lots of té de hierbabuena con miel and sopa de chile poblano, which is about all I can stomach for some weird reason.

Yesterday I felt awful. Today I’m up and around a little. I turned on the dishwasher and ran a load of laundry too. I almost feel normal today.
