I fed him 2 Johnny Rocket burgers and 2 big bottles of water, while 10 workers on a job site in front of a Hotel laughed and teased me because they knew I didn't speak spanish. They just stood by while the dog was seeking the smallest bit of shade that he could find. He is very skinny, dirty, and dying of the heat and is in need of some serious medical attention. I want to take him back to New York, where I live. If I came back to Mexico and found him, where could I take him to get medical attention before bringing him on a plane? I'm really hoping I can generate some adoptions for RAP. They have too many dogs and not enough resources. I've seen street dogs turn their nose up at would-be rescuers. I just had a chat with hubby about how we should get a little dog and name him "Grande" so we have the big black lab named "Chico" and the little lap dog named "Grande." He wasn't nearly as excited about it as I was... we'll see how the year progresses. I do have to say that the dogs here are really cute. There's one street dog that everyone here in Playa knows- he's white with a curled tail and a reddish nose and light brown eyes. Really cute. Some friends tried to take him in and he totally turned down the chicken soup they offered him (it was all they had). Wow, too cute.
